Steppenwolf Ensemble member Tracy Letts, the playwright of Bug, Killer Joe and Man From Nebraska, premieres his newest work, which was awarded the 2008 Pulitzer Prize for Drama.

When their patriarch vanishes, the Weston clan must return to their three-story home in rural Oklahoma to get to the heart of the matter. With rich insight and brilliant humor, Letts paints a vivid portrait of a Midwestern family at a turning point.

The very first snowflakes of Chicago?s coming winter season started to fall on me this past Sunday afternoon, as I made my way out of Steppenwolf Theatre Company?s Near North Side complex and a press performance in the Upstairs Theatre of Conor McPherson?s ?Dublin Carol.? Jayne Atkinson Joins BLITHE SPIRIT Revival Cast

Variety reports that Jayne Atkinson has joined the cast of the upcoming Broadway revival of "Blithe Spirit," Atkinson will play the bride of Everett's character, who is plagued by the ghost of his deceased first wife (Ebersole). The Weinstein Co. Acquires Worldwide Film Rights To 'AUGUST: OSAGE COUNTY'

Daily Variety reports that The Weinstein Co. has acquired worldwide film rights to the Pulitzer Prize and Tony-winning play "August: Osage County" and will produce a feature adaptation. TWC co-chairman Harvey Weinstein will join Jean Doumanian and Steve Traxler as producers of the pic, with playwright Tracy Letts doing the adaptation. (more...)

The New York Times is reporting that Rupert Everett will be joining Christine Ebersole in the upcoming Broadway revival of Blithe Spirit. At the beginning of the month rumors began circulating that Noel Coward's play Blithe Spirit will have life on Broadway this upcoming Spring season.
